Yemen is hemorrhaging. After more than three years of a brutal and genocidal war waged by a U.S/U.K-armed Saudi Coalition against 27 million Yemenis, life in Yemen has been reduced to a diseased, starving, mutilated and preyed upon nation that is still resisting some of the world’s most powerful nations in their attempts to drive Yemenis to their knees.

In May 2018, Sir Roger Carr, chairman of BAE, gave a speech to shareholders at the BAE AGM. “There is no doubt that 2017 was a successful year as reflected in our sales, profits and cash flow, which, I am pleased to say, has supported an increase in your dividend for the year to 21.8pence per share.”

Shareholders in arms production benefit from bloodshed globally. The deaths of Yemeni children pay “healthy” dividends. In 2015 the UK exported £ 2.94 billion in arms to Saudi Arabia over a period of 9 months. The illegal aggression against Yemen began in March 2015. BAE jumped at the opportunity to reap a harvest from the murder of Yemeni civilians. According to Amnesty International:

“They (UK) recently diverted a batch of 500-pound ‘Paveway IV’ bombs to Saudi Arabia. These bombs are used by Tornado and Typhoon fighter jets, both of which are manufactured and supplied to Saudi Arabia by the UK arms company BAE Systems.”

In May 2018 Carr said “our customers are our lifeblood” while those customers shed blood globally. Saudi Arabia is crucial to BAE’s success in the arms industry and is its third largest market sector after the U.S and U.K.

The Anarchist occupied social center ‘CSOA La Gatonera’ is getting heavy pressure from the new owners of the building, the ‘de-squat’ security company “Loman”.

The objective of the new owners, Lamero SL,  is to force the abandonment of the building  through threats to achieve a new real estate venture in a neighborhood (Carabanchel) where capitalist speculation is rife.

The owners clearly do not want to start the legal channels of eviction, their objective is to  avoid waiting for the judicial order of eviction. Record Heat forecast for Iberia as Climate Change fries Planet

Temperatures could approach or exceed all-time highs across parts of the Iberian Peninsula from Thursday to Saturday.

A ridge of high pressure that’s been lodged over and near northern Scandinavia will be eroding later this week, as a separate ridge builds northward from Africa and a trough approaches Europe from the northwest.

This pattern will pull hot, dry air from Algeria and Morocco into the Iberian Peninsula (Spain and Portugal), along with some Saharan dust. By the weekend, a building surface high across Ireland and Britain will help push the scorching air mass back southward across the higher terrain of central Iberia. This will lead to downslope flow across parts of Portugal and southwest Spain that could heat the air even further.Image result for ola de calor españa portugal

The expected pattern is so extreme that the surface-temperature predictions of forecast models have to be approached with a grain of salt. On 25 July 2018, in higher appeal, the Council of State has announced ADM must be empty within 5 months, by 25 December 2018. A new court case started by the ADM against the city of Amsterdam took place on 23 july 2018.

 

The ADM festival 2018 is scheduled from 20 till 23 September 2018.

Davis spoke about the need for international solidarity opposing institutionalized police violence against those engaged in political conduct around the world. Davis said, “Anti-Muslim racism, Islamophobia has to be understood as intersecting with and reinvigorating anti-Black, anti-Asian, anti-Latinos racism.”

Davis has her own history with oppression. A Communist leader, Davis was charged in August 1970 with supplying weaponry used in a fatal jailbreak attempt at the Marin County Courthouse in California. Saudi Arabia has halted oil shipments through the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait, the country’s energy minister has said. It follows a Houthi/Ansarullah missile attack on a Saudi oil tanker off Yemen’s western coast after the latest massacre of children by Saudi Air Force .

The tanker attack was ‘in response to the US-Saudi massacre in Hodaydah’  (July.16.2018)

Bob Cavnar, an oil industry expert, told Al Jazeera the announcement had already added $1 to the cost of a barrel of oil on stock markets. He said any delay in the delivery of crude from Saudi Arabia would have repercussions on global supplies and economies.

The halt in shipments will last ‘until the safety of shipments through the strait, which connects the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, is ensured’, Khalid Al-Falih said in a statement.

Hopefully the missile attacks will finally force the Saudis to the negotiating table. After 3 years ignoring the continuing massacre for arms profits the West may finally take notice with the threat of soaring oil prices.

Ansarullah Targets Saudi-Led Coalition Forces in with Tochka Missile

The Houthi/Ansarullah fired one of their increasingly sophisticated home made missiles at the passing Saudi oil tanker, the  NCC Dammam  in response to an air strike on Hodeidah on Monday that massacred at least a dozen civilians, including seven children.

The damage to the tanker, by chance was only slight, but the attack has forced the Saudis to suspend the hugely important passage of its tankers through the narrow Bab-el-Mandeb  strait.

Tensions have been rising in recent days after the Houthis/Ansarullah, who control most of northern Yemen, launched a series of missile strikes on Saudi Arabia, including the capital Riyadh.

North and West Yemen are now effectively a separate country, (as they were before for many years). The war began when Saudi Arabia ”appointed” their president Hadi, (he was the only candidate in disputed elections), causing the Houthii/Ansarullah movement to eventually rise up and sweep the country.
