Last 11th of July registered the houses and arrested three people who are in the NO TAV fight in Italy. Two were arrested in Milan and another one in Lecce.

The TAV is an European project which consist on the creation of a high speed line from Lisbon to Kiev. It is in 1995 when the people from Val di Susa (Italy) start an important fight in opposition to its construction. In 2008, the fight is radicalised due to the militarization of the valley and the extension of the movement among other cities in Italy. In the 9th of December 2013, Chiara, Claudio and Niccollò are imprisioned in Turin and Mattia in Milan, accusing them of participating in an action against the construction of the TAV in the 13th May 2013 night. These four people are arrested under high security as they are considered terrorist.

Dolly Parton – “A radical in rhinestones”

By Helen Morales

When Dolly Parton played at the Glastonbury Festival last month she won rave reviews. However, the media focus was not just on her exquisite singing (or alleged miming) and fabulous costumes, but also turned to feminism.

Lily Allen discussed feminism with Dolly in an interview for The Radio Times, Krissi Murison and myself debated whether Dolly is a feminist with Jenni Murray on BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour, and articles in The Guardian, The Telegraph, and The Times also honed in on the subject. Boycott Repsol petroleum: stop the Black Death

Repsol in Spain opens the era of dirty oil in the

European Union

boicot Repsol

” In 2012 the government revived Spanish oil company Repsol’s permit from 2001 to explore for oil in the Canary Islands, which had been cancelled in 2004 by the supreme court after legal challenges…destroy repsol whaleThe move prompted outrage from environmentalists and locals and the Canariees government who had previously fought the plans. Late last month, an blatantly fudged ”environmental review” handed Repsol the green light from Madrid to proceed with its exploration off Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, both popular holiday destinations.  (continued below)… Continue reading “Boycott Repsol petroleum: stop the Black Death”

Robots to hire, fire and boss us by our Digital Footprints

digital footprint

In the near future you may be chosen or refused for a job without an interview, test or formal qualifications, chosen by an algorithm robot after instant analysis of your ‘digital footprint’, everything you’ve ever done that leaves a trace. Equally you could get fired because the BOT dislikes your footprint.

Asking such programs to exclude anyone who has been in a union, or ever protested about anything, or ever pressed ‘LIKE’ on anything anti the 1% or whoever holds power, will be as easy as pressing a few keys Continue reading “Robots to hire, fire and boss us by our Digital Footprints”

In Praise of Rebel Women..by a contrite macho man

by Héctor Abad

translated from mujeres sin fonteras y sin bozal.  with thanks

From my male viewpoint these new rebel women ( if you can manage to tie up the sexist donkey inside you) make the best possible partners,
For sexist men, who are maybe 96 percent of the male population, women with a rough, tough, determined character bother us. We designate disparaging words: harpies, witches, bitches, whores, dykes, tomboys, etc etc..
Actually, we are just afraid of them, and we can’t wait to make them pay dearly for their challenge to male power that until recently was wielded unchallenged. Incorrigible sexists with macho culture as an ancestral heritage are instinctively bothered when these women defend themselves instead of submitting to their will.

Can Vies Rebellion Day 4 #EfectoCanVies

Strong protests in Barcelona and nearby towns. Riot Police reinforcements moving from Madrid, Valladolid and Zaragoza # EfectoCanVies

7,000 people converge on the Saints in the third day of protests against the eviction of Can Vies, the police State, and  capitalist misery.

can vies dia 3 hBlue lights , police , reflected on the wet asphalt Street of Sants, a big working class barrio of trendy Barcelona. . Endless lines of Catalan police vans rushing up and down.. dispersing the thousands of demonstrators who immediately reappeared… a neighbour blasting protest songs from a balcony.. for the third consecutive day , this neighborhood has burned following the eviction of Can Vies, decreed by the government of Xavier Trias, of an assembly-run Social Center occupied for 17 years. ..

(Can Vies was a local self-run Occupied Social Center, going for 17 yrs in an ex union building, with wide neighbourhood support. The Coumcil  ordered an eviction for a ‘green space’ to crush an organisation outside its idea of a sanitised, top down, rich only, capitalist paradise. They were warned many times that evicting Can Vies would be the start of urbaan warfare, with 70% youth unemployment. Yet the arrogant idiots went ahead and lit that fuse…..)
