On Saturday, Popular Party Secretary-General María Dolores de Cospedal, number two of the governing party in Spain, said that she knew she was going to get criticized, “but this is pure Nazism.” On Sunday, rather than resigning, she repeated it. For more precision, she added that going to a politician’s house to “harass” him “is a totalitarian attitude comparable to what occurred in the thirties in a European country.” A reference to Nazis marking the homes of Jews.

But these “Nazis” are folks who are standing up to the banks and draconian mortgage laws that the government is hell-bent on protecting. Continue reading “Swindled, evicted and denounced as ‘The New Nazi of Spain’”

Who are those grinning Anti-systemites?

anti-systemites

The papers call us ‘anti-systemites’

Who are we? What are we against? When do we appear?
When do we we vanish?

Now we understand, that veteran, with glasses and gray hair, who first glanced at the fire and then threw on cartons to stir it up: he was an anti-systemite!

And how about those adolescents who parked their bikes and helped break the windows of the museum Diocesiá (the fraudsters and abusers). They were anti system too.cop car Continue reading “Who are those grinning Anti-systemites?”

Spain: 6m empties, 400,000 families on street, 500 evictions a day!!

stop evictionsThe spokesman for the Platform of People Affected by the Mortgage, Chema Ruiz, criticized Spain’s economic model that defends banks and leaves people with a huge debt, that of being unable to pay their home mortgages.

This situation has meant that there are six million empty houses in Spain while 400,000 families have no place to return at the end of the day.

Ruiz reiterated the need for efforts to ensure that housing is a right rather than a commodity, and that called people to fight against evictions rather than suicide.

He also demanded a moratorium on evictions, a foreclosed law retroactively applied and also toi form a public park in social rented housing.

Evictions have become a social tragedy in Spain and many cases led to suicides. Since the financial crisis began, more than 350,000 families have lost their homes over unpaid mortgage loans to the bank. Continue reading “Spain: 6m empties, 400,000 families on street, 500 evictions a day!!”
