The Fair Coop. The Earth cooperative for a fair economy

Activists from various fields of alternative economy like Enric Duran (Robin of the Banks), Cooperativa Integral Catalana, Michael Bauwens, P2P Foundation, or Amir Taaki, , bitcoin developer, launched this September 17, after months of networking, a draft global economic system based on cooperation, ethics, solidarity, redistribution north-south, and justice in economic relations.

The Fair Coop is a global cooperative attempt to become independent of the “old economic system” based on central banks and fiat currencies by a new currency reference, faircoin, to promote the global commons and decentralized economies. .

The date, 17S coincides symbolically with six years of the campaign “We can live without capitalism,” and five years since the campaign with more than a hundred data points in the Spanish state to create alternative economy networks by inviting people to abandon their bank accounts. They are not squatters: they are Nazis

On 18 August, the neo-Nazi group Social Republican Movement (MSR) announced on social media their entry into an abandoned building in Madrid’s Tetuan barrio and fheir intention to turn it into a social center for ‘those in need’ provided they were white and of Spanish nationality. .

Opening a such center in the district with the largest migrant population of Madrid and the opposition it generated among neighbors attracted media attention, especially after the massive demonstration against held the same day as opening of the center, on August 30.

Since then, it has been common to see the press referred to the center as a “squatted building” and members of the neo-Nazi group as “squatters” in an error which is then repeated in social networks. The center is equated with the squatting movement, which has always had among its main objectives the recovery of abandoned homes to become social centers and buildings.

Dear old Emma Goldman, throughout her long and prolific career within the anarchist movement of the twentieth century, produced many political texts to which activists return much more frequently than to other anarchist thinkers. Usually these texts are criticized by leftist feminism for being just what they are: anarchist harangues from on the barricade itself. Here we take the thought of Emma Goldman not uncritically as libertarian gospel, but to make it live in your discussion today, and to rescue Emma’s special ability to put her finger right on the spot, in the wound of mainstream feminism of her day, while at the same time opposing the practices of her own fellow militants of the anarchist movement, whip in hand.

Goldman’s texts are always a concern with passion, joy and the sharing of erotic bodies, key concepts of personal fulfillment without which struggle and social revolution can not be successful. Even today these ideas, which in her time were a totally unprecedented and radical innovation, go far beyond the usual conceptualizations of anarchist free love that generally reach only to forming couples but without legal contract. Anti-Nato Protesters March to Steel Cordon Protecting World Leaders

With police in riot gear and helmets looking down from higher ground, the protesters set off from the center of Newport at lunchtime in a public show of opposition to the Nato Summit.

With the biggest gathering of world leaders ever to set foot in Wales underway at the Celtic Manor resort opponents made a three-mile trek to the venue as part of a pre-planned peaceful protest.

Hundreds of locals turned out along the way to watch the 500-strong protest procession pass along Chepstow Road.

Loud chanting erupted as the march arrived at the cordon where scores of people pounded against the steel barrier fencing.
