Can Piella evicted in 6 hrs. Motorway blocked, New occupations
The resistance has hampered the evicion of Can Piella that has been extended over six hours
After holding out for more than 5 months since the Court Order the Can Piella ‘Land and Liberty’ occupation was evicted yesterday, on the 2nd anniversary of the start if the 15M ‘Take The Streets’ uprising. The squat had become a symbol of anarchist type collective action, permaculture, and resistance to rampant capitalist speculation, with countless mobilisations and widespread public support, even by local councils.
The eviction comes on the same day as an ”anti terrorist” raid detained 5 local anarchists see here and in the context of a 15M offensive, with demonstrations and new occupations daily. | Taking the fight from the internet to the streets. On April 25th, 2013 approximately 3.000 anarchists marched in solidarity to Athens Indymedia and 98 FM that have been censored by the greek State since April 11th, amongst dozens of solidarity actions all over Greece and some parts of Europe.
On April 24th, 2013, a massive solidarity banner was hanged at the main univeristy building in one of the busiest streets in the center of Athens. 72 anarchists were detained for almost 12 hours by the police and 6 were charged with offending the greek national flag by replacing it with the red black of anarchism! Anarchist solidarity Victories against FBI: Jerry Resists
Though FBI harrassment continues the anarchist movement are winning a solidarity victory in the campaign against political repression.
Several people imprisoned for refusing to give information about political activists to the so-called ‘Grand Juries’ have now been released.
Grand Jury Resisters Matt Duran and Kteeo and Maddy Pfeiffer are free at last!

Perhaps the biggest challenge anarchists face is combating the masses of disinformation out there about anarchism, to educate the 99% and explain ourselves, and what anarchism means rather than what government and other propaganda tells us that it means. That’s part of the reason we set up Forest of Dean Anarchists. So here is the first in what we hope to be a series of asking prominent anarchists what it’s all about!
Stuart Christie, since 1962 has been an active anarchist, through writing, publishing and action. The Glaswegian author of Granny Made Me An Anarchist, General Franco Made Me A Terrorist and Edward Heath Made Me Angry (his entertaining and inspiring three-part autobiography), and The Christie File: Enemy Of The State, first achieved notoriety in 1964 when at the age of 18 he hitch-hiked to Madrid to assassinate Franco, and was caught and imprisoned. Barry stood up, calm as usual, and surveyed the scene, at nine a.m., in the big, low, badly lit basement. There were about two hundred of us there, all sweating buckets, mostly men, and stripped off to the waist.
The place was buzzing with loud excited talk. All the tattooed Clanners milling down the back, in kilts and thongs and caps and hanging pockets.
Young fresh faces and faces lined and balding. some contending with wobbly bellies. Others old already, with alcohol and frustration, plus a bit of hard labour as well.

Police Attack rallies Anarchists: Villa Amalias, Athens

Athens: anarchist squat Villa Amalias raided by riot police
At approximately 07:00 GMT+2 on December 20th, riot police raided the anarchist squat Villa Amalias in Athens.
Eight people were detained inside the building, while the police are now searching in the presence of an ninth person who was also in the building at the time of the raid and who is acting as witness to the search. It is expected that this person will also be detained at the end of the operation.
It is still unclear whether or not the police intend to evict the squat.
