NYC May Day Bike Bloc Anticapitalist Ride

This May Day, the Metropolitan Opposition Bike Bloc (MOBB) is inviting all anarchist cyclists and bicycle owners out for a casual city ride.

The plan is to visit various sites of capitalist significance and make our voices heard.

As we roll on we’ll leave visible anti-capitalist propaganda in our wake. Bring stickers, chalk, and whatever else you deem appropriate for signaling to onlookers capitalism’s countless vices. Let’s get some exercise and have some fun while spreading the rebellious spirit of May Day!

Don’t own a bike, but really want to ride? You can rent one at Danny’s Cycles located a couple of blocks away from the starting location at 546 6th Ave. We’ll leave from Union Square Park around 2pm and aim to return around 3:30 or 4.

Introduction

translated  from  Rojava Azidi tweets/photos from ICafrinresist

The defeat of the IS in Syria and especially after the liberation of Raqqa in October 2017, the Turkish state intensified its threats and attacks against the Federation Democratic Federation of Northern Syria.

In this context, the Turkish invasion war against Afrin began on January 20, 2018 violating international law and the sovereignty of its neighboring country.

The Turkish army has launched this war in cooperation with jihadist groups from the ranks of the FSA. Many of them are former members of Al-Qaeda or EI.
Since the beginning of March, all districts and the city center of Afrin have suiffered intense aviation and artillery bombardments and drone surveillance that the Turkish army has carried out, especially against civilians. On March 18, more than 200,000 people.

They left the center of the city and were evacuated to avoid physical genocide. Since then, the majority of refugees remain in the Shehba region without security guarantees or international support.

Emma Goldman … ‘What I Believe’ … read and download

“What I believe” has many times been the target of hack writers. Such blood-curdling and incoherent stories have been circulated about me, it is no wonder that the average human being has palpitation of the heart at the very mention of the name Emma Goldman.

It is too bad that we no longer live in the times when witches were burned at the stake or tortured to drive the evil spirit out of them. For, indeed, Emma Goldman is a witch! True, she does not eat little children, but she does many worse things. She manufactures bombs and gambles in crowned heads. B-r-r-r!

Such is the impression the public has of myself and my beliefs. It is therefore very much to the credit of The World that it gives its readers at least an opportunity to learn what my beliefs really are.The student of the history of progressive thought is well aware that every idea in its early stages has been misrepresented, and the adherents of such ideas have been maligned and persecuted. One need not go back two thousand years to the time when those who believed in the gospel of Jesus were thrown into the arena or hunted into dungeons to realize how little great beliefs or earnest believers are understood.

The history of progress is written in the blood of men and women who have dared to espouse an unpopular cause, as, for instance, the black man’s right to his body, or woman’s right to her soul. If, then, from time immemorial, the New has met with opposition and condemnation, why should my beliefs be exempt from a crown of thorns? Spain: Prisoners Resisting Cruelty Start Hunger Strike on May 1st

COMUNIQUES> NEWS> Female and Male Prisoners> SPAIN:

RESISTING PRISONERS  WILL START HUNGER STRIKE THIS MAY 1st

The distancing of prisons from cities and inhabited areas, the mental walls, the lack of conscience, the belief in a line between “the good guys” and the “bad guys” … we do not know what the reasons are, nor which of them has more strength so that we have reached this point, in which the people who are locked in the Penitentiary System, matter so little and generate this terrible lack of empathy outside.

We want to take out, for a moment, the voice of these people who are fighting. They themselves have written a proposal of collective struggle where they show “the situation in which we are systematically subjected to abuse of power, aggression, continued physical and mental torture, and inhuman and degrading conditions of existence in many aspects: medical-sanitary abandonment, labour exploitation, legal defenselessness, cultural discrimination, non-existent freedom of expression, etc. “

Faced with this situation; from within, from the incarcerated people, a proposal of Collective Hunger Strike has emerged to throw a ray of light on the normalized violence in prison, to reach “out”. Continue reading “Spain: Prisoners Resisting Cruelty Start Hunger Strike on May 1st”

Invitation for a revolutionary May 1st: Paris + Russian Anarchist Solidarity

May Day in Paris: Invitation for a revolutionary May 1st

After the invitation of “Les Paves” to come to Paris on the first of May, we now publish another call to come to Paris.

Here is the full call:

Macron’s power has decided to break the social protests by force, revealing the brutal face of repression under the mask of a smiling modernity.

Military attack against the ZAD, destruction of places of life, expulsions, beating students with batons, isolation of railway workers, disinformation: these maneuvers intended to prove the authority of the state are rather the symptoms of an anxious government, panicked by the growth of a  more and more powerful and multiform movement.

The strike at the SNCF is massively followed, disrupting rail traffic, the blockades and occupations of universities multiply as rarely for more than a decade, networks are growing, alliances are formed, several other sectors join the struggle, the NDDL’s comrades withstand each day with more determination while support committees are active across the country, in short, people everywhere are reappropriating TO BEAT THE RIGHT. Whip in hand: Emma Goldman’s feminist critique of feminism

Emma Goldmanhttps://thefreeonline.wordpress.com
en Castellano más abajo.

Dear old Emma Goldman, throughout her long and prolific career within the
anarchist movement of the twentieth century, produced many political texts to which activists return much more frequently than to other anarchist thinkers. Usually these texts are criticized by leftist feminism for being just what they are: anarchist harangues from on the barricade itself. Here we take the thought of Emma Goldman not uncritically as libertarian gospel, but to make it live in your discussion today, and to rescue Emma’s special ability to put her finger right on the spot, in the wound of mainstream feminism of her day, while at the same time opposing the practices of her own fellow militants of the anarchist movement,  whip in hand.

Goldman’s texts are always a concern with passion, joy and the sharing of erotic bodies, key concepts of personal fulfillment without which  struggle and social…

‘Fear is gonna Change Sides’.. Women’s Self Defense.
Just months before they had shared a video on Whatsapp of themselves abusing, mocking and stripping a drugged and kidnapped girl, to the adulation of their many fans (see Pozoblanco below).Image result for Manifestaciones mujeres sentencia manada
The San Fermin rape became the focus of a campaign against sexual abuse atthe Fiesta, highlighting many other similar cases, and condemning the impunity showed by the corrupt political justice system, as well as the links between machismo, bull torture, catholic nationalism and rape in the ‘culture’ of the Spanish right.
The sentencing of the rapists came just weeks after the first ever women’s General Strike on March 8th with an unprecedented awakening to the abuse , denigration and discrimination against women.
A heavy sentence was expected but the judges ruled there was no proof of rape, that the girl didn’t protest loud enough, and reduced the charge to ‘abuse’. For this they got 9 years each.. but  with endless appeals and certain clemency they will likely never go to jail, like the hundreds of corrupt poiliticians charged but enjoying immunity..

Demonstrations called on social media have multiplied already across Spain to express the rejection of the decision of the court
(Ara report by ENRIC BORRÀS / MARIONA FERRER)  Thousands of people – most of them women – have quickly concentrated in the Plaça Sant Jaume de Barcelona. Continue reading “1000’s of Women Protest as Gang Rape 5 get Light Sentences and Victim Blamed”
