This is the award winning ‘DeadCity’ (Ciutat Morta) with English subtitles, finally seen on TV in Catalonia by over half a million this week (with 5 minutes censored).

Ciutat Morta (Dead City)

It tells the story of a police vendetta, torture, and frame-up of 5 obviously and totally innocent people in vengeance for an ‘accident’ when a plant pot fell or was thrown on a policeman’s head, leaving him paraplegic, during a mass raid on a squatters party in Barcelona. How police, politicians, press and Courts at every level combined to blame bystanders who looked like anarcho punks and hound to her death a lesbian poet who wasn’t even there.

The documentary is an eye-opener on how rampant fascism, racism and sexism still rule in never reformed police and judicial systems, but more than that it’s a moving immersion into suffering and struggle, using the poems of Patricia Heras, written before she was finally driven to suicide.

‘Robin Hood’ fugitive to Kick-start Post Capitalism?

Last week saw two major internet stories from ‘Robin Hood’ (aka, Enric Duran) and his plans to short circuit Capitalism.

‘Robin’ is a Catalan activist who took out bank loans of 500,000 euros and gave the cash to occupiers, anarchists and Coops. Then he helped found the fast growing CIC (Integral Coop), a group of leaderless assembly-run, coops with their own ‘anti-money’, the ECU, which aims to evade the inbuilt exploitative control of the world money system.

Actions for 7 jailed for being Anarchists. Campaign Updates.

Last week 11 people were arrested when 450 cops raided anarchist social centers and homes, mainly in Barcelona.Finally seven of them, five women and 2 men, were denied bail and dragged off to Madrid prisons, on orders of the High Court, notoriously controlled by the neo-fascist ruling PP party in the Spanish State. Nikos Romanos ends strike. World solidarity helps Triumph

Nikos Romanos has triumphed. After 31 days of hunger strike and thirst strike beginning today the Greek government has yielded to his demands and has agreed to allow leave to study, as Nikos claimed and to which he was legally entitled.With this agreement consisting of about 6 months distance learning from prison first, then exit permits on electronic tracking device to study later, Nikos Romanos abandoned today the hunger strike and thirst having not only jeopardized the Greek state, but having overcome with a historic hunger strike.

Free Prisoners NOW: Amèlie,Fallon and Carlos get 2yr 7months

On Nov 6th Amélie Trudeau Pelletier, Fallon Poisson Rouiller and Carlos López Marín were sentenced to 2 years, 7 months and 15 days in prison, and ordered to pay damages of 108,000 pesos, on charges of attacks to public peace and aggravated damages.
